Low Fat And Sugar Banana Marble Bread

In France, banana bread is not popular at all. Banana, is not a common fruit used in French bakery (Have you ever heard of Banana eclairs? no, so do I). On the other hand, Banana bread is a classic in America, maybe because it was created there in the 1930’s. It is also a traditional dessert found in all American book recipe. American even have a National Banana Bread day, the 23 February. When I first arrived in America, I wondered why Banana bread is such a thing? Then, I have tried it and I have liked it; I have baked it and I have loved it. What else?

No matter from where you are from, you should try at least once in your life banana bread.

Especially this version, which is this low fat and low sugar.

As we can see, one slice of this banana bread provides you a reasonable amount of energy: 209 Kcal. It is nutrient dense: rich in fibers, good carbs, proteins, healthy fat, vitamins and magnesium.

This banana marble bread is definitely healthier than the original version from the recipe books, rich in refined sugar and saturated fat. Besides, the cacao brings a special touch that cacao’s lover will adore.

LOW FAT BANANA MARBLE BREAD

TOTAL TIME: 40 MIN

PREP TIME: 10 MIN

BAKE TIME: 30 MIN  (AT 180°C OR 375°F)

PORTIONS NUMBER: 8

INGREDIENTS FOR:

• 2/3 cup flour

• Almond powder

• 3 ripped bananas

• 2 eggs

• 200 ml coconut milk

• 1 tsp baking powder

• 1/4 cup unsweetened cacao powder

• 1/3 cup of brown sugar

PREPARATION:

Preheat the oven to 375˚F (180˚C) 

Oil and coat the cake pan.

Mash the over ripped bananas.

In a large bowl, combine the egg, the sugar and the mashed bananas.

Mix it all together.

Add the flour, the almond powder, the baking powder and the coconut milk and stir well.

This batter has definitely a better look

Pour half of this batter in a new bowl and add the cacao, mix it again.

Pour half of the nature batter  in the cake pan, then add half of the cacao batter on the top of it. Repeat the process for the other half.

Bake it for 35 to 40 minutes. To make sure your cake is cooked, insert a knife into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean, it is ready.

As we can see our banana bread is not ready yet

 

Let it cool down and remove it from the pan.

Enjoy it with parsimony.
